Pimp My Basket - How To Upgrade Your Basket With Simple Crocheting
12.01.2018
Here is a simple yet very fancy pattern how to upgrade a plain basket with your crocheting skills.
All my girls have recieved one as a gift this Christmas and they loved it (at least they said soJ), so please enjoy the pattern:
Material
Basket (this one is from IKEA)
Cotton yarn – I use Must Have by Yarn and Colors 2 – 3.5 mm
Crochet hook – Clover 2.0mm for the base, 2.5 mm for the rest
Wool yarn for pom-poms
Pattern
The base is made by working a single crochet along the whole basket edge. The elongated form is made by working it a few rows down (in my case 2 rows of the basket) and to every second stitch of the basket (so basically every second hole I could find a space with my hook).
When working handles, I crochet behind them, so you can still see the handles at the front.
After the base is finished, continue with the single crochet working cca 4-5 stitches in one parto fo the base (or one stitch of the base).
Now i tis up to you how many rows you go for, I did 4 rows, finisehd with slip stitch and that´s it.
I made pompoms to decorate the whole basket (ou may find some tutorials here) and you can either sew them right at the basket, or make a nice pom pom on string and attach it to the basket.
Crochet along ladies! (and gentlemen)
